Ever since YLS hit the catwalk with a sequined pair of Harlem trousers at the beginning of 2009, high street retailers have embraced the trend and now they have seeped into the spring collections.
Although, these trousers do pose as an 80's fashion disaster, the cut of the trousers can be extremely flattering due to the skimming of the hips and complimenting the thinnest part of the leg.
During the day, you could pair the trousers with shoe boots a fitted vest top and blazer for an overall casual look, however remember the fitted the better for your top half, as I believe showing your femininity is the most important factor in mastering the Harlem trouser.
You even have the luxury of making the trousers into a mock jumpsuit with a tucked in boob tube teamed with a waist belt for a night on the tiles...
I personally haven't dared yet to pull on a pair of these 'Hate it or Love it' trousers but my younger sister Joanna, rocks out the look with true class in these pictures I have attached.
Joanna combines, Miss Selfridges purple haze Harlem trousers, a plain H&M vest, New Looks kitten heeled gladiator sandals and not forgetting a purple quilted bag to finish the look...All under £30...ooh what a bargain hunter!
So what are you waiting for...dare to be different and get yourself a pair...I certainly will be.
