Tuesday

oooo hello trend...

I thought I'd research something to do with my course aren't I a good student...
These are the particular trends I'am liking at the moment...

Khaki and Lace.

Subtle Bloom.

Intricate Layers.

Softer Sleeve.

Midnight Coincidences...

This picture made me laugh so much even though it is quite disgusting of a random man's behind, but it made me think about what random ideas we think are actually brilliant at the time when a lot of white wine and lambrini has been consumed... such as, having thoughtless tattoos scarred to our skin... what a great life we lead us teenagers, I would happily stay this age forever...please

Quilty Sins...

If you're taking a trip down Carnaby Street in London, make sure you take a peek at liberty's new and daring window display.
The display is a combination of embroideress artist's such as Karen Nicol and Lou Gardiner, to create a patchwork of cheeky quilts which are draped on proud show as Liberty's window displays.
Yes...Quilts have just got sexy everyone!
No longer do we think of a patchwork quilt made by our grandmas..oh no no!, with the likes of the quilt 'Hot Lunch' there's more unconventional of the stereotype of making a patchwork with a cup of tea and cake.
So why not give it a go...go crazy and make your own patchwork or if that doesn't float your boat, you could do as I and have a gawp at Liberty's promiscuous window display and admire.

Going GaGa...

I am in love with these Lady Gaga ginger bread girls!!
She will be definitely poking her face to go, get her hands on one of these edible treats!...

Mammoth wedges

I absolutely love these wedges you would never need your handbag again with all these pockets!...
Time to start saving girls, these funky chunky wedges are selling at over $500.
Designer Jonny Johansson is also introducing a fur material and a palette of vimto purple to his new collection.
These wedges would make any spice girl jealous...

Monday

Fly like an Eagle

As I was passing by Paradise street, I noticed up high a beautifully restored statue of an American Eagle, that from research I discovered represented a pub of the same name located here. Did you know that it is a symbol of the enduring relationship between Liverpool and it's US partners across the ocean...intresting i know.
This initial link of Liverpool and the US, made me think of how American Eagle the brand, which is mainly based in the US, could branch out it's brand into the highstreets of Liverpool.
The statue can be seen from afar due to being a popular tourist attraction, therefore as it already recieves popularity from the public this would counteract a reaction of new customers visiting the store which then creates a wider target market...Result!

Alladin's Cave

One of my favourite parts to the trip was taking a visit to Liverpool Market. As I walked up to the open market I felt like I was in Eastenders, everyone was haggling for the best price in fish and all the meats you could think of... thank the lord I'am not a vegetarian. There was heaps of make up, hair products and Topshop shoes for a fraction of the price, you name it they sold it.

As I pushed my way through the hustle and bustle of the scouse hagglers there was another part to the market which was in an inside like town hall. I thought I'd take a peek, well mainly I wanted to go inside from the freezing weather it was seriously making my hands blue, as I got closer I noticed the sign was faded and missed one of the 'o' letters in Liverpool Market, I didn't really know what to expect?...perhaps more replica perfumes I thought.

Once inside it was like an Aladdin's cave I didn't know what to feast my eyes on first, there were rails and rails of replica designer dresses and bundles of hand made jewellery, vintage handbags and even personalised cupcakes, it really was any girls dream on a budget!

Liverpool's thirst for being stylish and it's financially proven addiction to shopping has made them one of the few, if not the best success story I feel during the credit crunch. With the luxury of having these local markets bursting with undiscovered fashion, Liverpool looks fabulous without burning a hole in the purse.

I only wear McQueen to McDonalds...

On the cold December morning, when I was strolling through the city of Liverpool one memory seemed to stand out like a sore thumb. Liverpudlians claim to live in one of the most stylish cities in the country, an attitude that was sourced from the spotlight of the Beatles and it's over appreciation of the WAG's. But does it live up to this reputation?
The quote 'Less is More' springs to mind as they're combination of heels, hair, make-up and minuscule dress length are all in high evidence in this particular city and this is defiantly not about to change.
As I looked up and down the narrow streets, literally every girl was dressed to the nines in small evening dresses teamed with sky scraper heels and a face masked in mac make-up. I couldn't even venture into McDonald's without seeing girls tottering around with their perfectly rollered hair asking for a more ketchup, I honestly felt like I'd gone to another planet.
My outfit consisted of leggings, Ugg boots and a bright winter coat to face the cold weather, yet Mr Weatherman had no affect what so ever upon these WAG wannabees wardrobes.

Move over WAG'S...Livercool has arrived

Liverpool is one of my favourite cities in the country, not only does it demonstrate it's own fashion culture, but is the official home of the Beatles. The lively city emits a buzzing atmosphere that surrounds you as soon as you step out onto the streets, not forgetting that famous scouse accent which personally makes me weak at the knees.
I visited the famous Liverpool in early December 09, just before all the crazy last minute shoppers descended upon the high streets. A walk around the £1billion project of the brand new Liverpool One shopping centre, unveils the work of many of the world's most innovative architects, as well as many hidden gems and considerate renovations to existing shops, the new shopping district enhances the city's historical and cultural heritage.
Not long ago Liverpool was famous for it's unnaturally orange ladies and it was well known in the fashion industry that they were the biggest buyer of Lacoste trackies in the world. Now with the arrival of Liverpool One, here's a little fact for you, last year due to the new shopping district, the city had increased it's shoppers by 18%. This seemed to be thanks to the super sized Topshop claiming its position on Church Street followed by numerous classic boutiques such as Lola Loves, Kirsty Doyle and Claudia Pink. The future's bright for Liverpool but it certainly isn't orange anymore.
